On Wednesday Texas Democrat Sheila Jackson Lee spoke on the floor of the US House of Representatives. The Gateway Pundit blog linked to a story recounting the Houston Congresswoman’s urge for Americans “to turn in their guns”.
Sheila Jackson Lee’s intolerance towards gun owners is a farce; look where she holds her campaign events!
KHOU publicized the Congresswoman’s October 13th appearance here:
A health screening and health services fair planned for Saturday will feature free screenings for the public.
The event, hosted by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, will take place on Saturday, October 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston.
Approximately 2,500 people are expected to receive health services such as HIV/STD testing, blood pressure screening, immunizations and eye and hearing exams.

What I find so very odd about her open hostility to the gun owners is that she recently held a campaign appearance at the GRB on the very same day & at the very same time the gun show took place. On October 13th, 2012 the High Caliber Gun and Knife Show was held at the George R. Brown Convention Center:
Sheila Jackson Lee felt SO safe around all those responsible Texas gun owners at the GRB, she chose to host a campaign appearance nearby.
Will she now have to distance herself from these foolish comments since it appears law-abiding Texas gun owners serve as defacto security detail for her campaign events at the George R. Brown?
** Oh, and don’t think I overlooked the use of the @mail.house.gov email address. Isn’t it against House Ethics Rules to use taxpayer resources for official and un-official campaign events?
*** C’mon, of COURSE it was a campaign event! The campaign “fair” was publicized here by KHOU and here by Style Magazine. Both used her official “title” in their articles and the event was held less than one month prior to the November election.
****Yes, I know a loaded gun cannot be carried inside the GRB.
